A celebration of ecological sustainability – includes live bands, thoughtful discussions, mantra chants and grooves, a massive vegan feast and a whole mountain of sweets.

International Day of Climate Action Festival

When: Saturday 24th October 12-5pm
Where: Odlins Plaza (between Frank Kitt’s Lagoon and Mac’s Brewery), Wellington Waterfront

Times:
12 noon onwards: Krishnafood will be there with plates for $3.50 – vegan diet is the diet with the lowest carbon footprint….
2:15pm: 350 theme song by Mahanila and Beka.
2.20-2.45pm: Divine Forest (Kirtan band) starting their 350 mantras for the day, to transform global consciousness so we’ll be happy to live a simpler, more eco-harmonious life!

Come back to Gaura Yoga at 5.30pm for Kirtan night – where we’ll complete our 350 mantras
with an east-west fusion soundscape followed by an awesome vegan snack together. ($10, 5.30-7.15pm followed by snack)

Reality Month, September 2009

Coming up this September is an exciting month-long seminar series at the Gaura Yoga Krishna Fest. The series will explore questions such as “what is real and what is illusion?”, “how to be ‘for real’?”, “how best to cope with reality?”, “how to influence the world?” and much more. It will be an interesting and unique look at the world and how it functions.

There is mantra-meditation before and after each talk. The $5 price includes a vegan meal.

Ever wondered why the food at Gaura Yoga tastes so good? Well, our chefs will be extending the kitchen into the Lounge so you can come and find out all our top secret recipes in demonstration/hands-on cooking classes. With themed menus taken from countries all around the world we will show you how you can cook a meal at home that will win the hearts of your friends, family and flatmates! Starting our journey in Mexico with our top chef Champak on Tuesday 5th May, then a trip to India on the 12th of May, followed by A Taste of Thai in the following week, then Flavors of the Middle East. Yuuummm!!!

All sessions start at 6pm, finishing by 7.30pm, followed by dinner. Prices are as below. Please book in advance with Champak, or Vishnu-maya as spaces are limited to 13.

Ayurveda: the way of healthy living

Ayurveda is a 5000 year old Vedic science that describes how to live in harmony with one’s natural constitution and the environnment to obvain and maintain health and happiness.

Dr Gupta is a 4th generation Ayurvedic doctor from Vrindaban, India who has been coming to New Zealand to teach and heal for over 20 years. Dr Gupta is a very experienced Ayurvedic physician who teaches with humour and imparts knowledge that can bring positive and lasting changes for a healthy body, mind and consciousness.

Improvements to Yoga Booking System

Good news: we have upgraded our yoga booking process!

You can now very easily cancel a booking. Just type your booking ID number into the cancellation box on the yoga page. We will email you a voucher that you can use to book another session at your convenience.
No more needing to book the day before. You can now make a booking on the day of the session as long as it is before 4:30pm. Cancellations can also be done up until 4:30pm on the session day.
